The head of Nice’s municipal police, Richard Gianotti, who was suspended as a precautionary measure last October, will not be returning to his position.
Indeed, Richard Gianotti was suspended from his duties after the revelation of an investigation targeting him.
The director of the municipal police had been suspected of continuing to receive his salary from the national police for several years, in addition to the one paid by the city of Nice, since 2017.
A jury is therefore set to meet in the coming days to choose a new director for the Nice municipal police.
Anthony Borrรฉ, the deputy mayor, however, clarified that “Richard Gianotti wished to reintegrate into the national police. I want to commend the work he has done at the head of the municipal police of Nice”.
