Sophia Antipolis shortlisted among the four most important centers in the field of Artificial Intelligence

Latest News

The application from Nice Sophia-Antipolis was selected alongside those from Grenoble, Paris, and Toulouse, from a list of twelve submitted proposals. This choice was made by an international jury composed of renowned scientific figures in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

At the beginning of the year, the French Government launched a call for expressions of interest to award the 3IA (Interdisciplinary Institutes of Artificial Intelligence) label to regions with a leading higher education and research network in Artificial Intelligence.

An application was submitted by the University of the Côte d’Azur along with INRIA and CNRS. Indeed, Nice-Sophia-Antipolis is the French region that hosts the largest number of internationally renowned researchers in this field.

The Department of Alpes-Maritimes has fully supported this application from the outset.

Obtaining the 3IA label is a rightful recognition of the immense work undertaken by research institutes and higher education establishments in the field of Artificial Intelligence. It would also be a great encouragement to continue this commitment and to envision projects such as the Departmental House of Artificial Intelligence.
