Sport and Education: Hand in Hand for the Assertion of Common Values

Latest News

The leadership teams of the Nice Academy and the Cรดte d’Azur Regional Olympic and Sports Committee (CROS) recently met for an update on their relations following the appointment of Emmanuel Ethis as rector just before the start of the 2015-16 school year.

This meeting allowed each party to reaffirm their commitment to common values promoted by sports and education. The meeting was also an opportunity to establish a partnership group based on the 2007 circular concerning high-level sports.

Bernard Dutard, Academic Inspector (IPR), will be responsible for participating in its design and its regionalized missions on the Cรดte d’Azur.

The sports movement was able to express its concern about the lack of continuity in supporting post-baccalaureate high-level athletes (SHN) and the migration of these athletes to other academies or countries.

Surprised, Emmanuel Ethis committed to asking University Presidents about the protocols they have implemented, or their intention to do so, as he has done in his previous roles and missions.

Finally, Rector Ethis invited the Olympic and sports movement to share the values of Olympism with the largest possible audience in schools, middle schools, and high schools as part of the citizenship education advocated by the Ministry.

Values that are identical or close to those of education and secularism.
