In Dardilly, last Sunday, the Résolus Bois Roulant (Nice) won the French M3 championship in quadrette. A solid performance after three days of intense competition.
The France Quadrettes M3, held from July 18 to 20 in Dardilly (Rhône), brought together 128 teams from all over France. Among them, the Résolus Bois Roulant made their way to the title. The Nice group, led by Patrick Forestier, included Sophie Lacour, Philippe Nouaille, Piergiuseppe Micco, and Frédéric Richard. The team remained undefeated throughout the tournament.
From Friday, the Nice team took the lead. They won their two pool matches against Mâcon (13-1) and La Motte Servolex (13-9). In the round of 32, they dominated Nailliers (13-5).
Saturday was disrupted by rain. In the round of 16, they overcame Vindry sur Turdine (8-7). In the quarterfinals, they eliminated Pineuilh (10-5). In the evening, their quarterfinal against Bourg-en-Bresse was interrupted by bad weather. Three ends were played, and the score was 2-5 for the Bressans.
The match resumed on Sunday morning. The Nice team turned the game around to win (13-5). In the semifinals, they beat Le Puy-en-Velay with a clear score (13-0). In the final, they defeated the Club Bouliste Toulousain of André Serafin, (11-9), in a close contest.
Two other Nice clubs in the semifinals
Two other Nice teams stood out in Dardilly. Didier Abrate’s OGC Nice reached the semifinals in the M1 League. They were eliminated (6-8) by Génelard, the future champion.
Nicolas Corgier’s USCCA had a similar run in the M2 League. They fell in the semifinals against Entente Bouliste Biterroise (8-10), also the future champion.
With this new title, Nice’s sport-boules confirms its strong momentum, two weeks after OGC Nice’s victory in doubles in the M1 League.
