Sports 11, the new sports event in Nice and on the Côte d’Azur.

Eric Warlop (Sports 11) and Tarek Salem (La Canne à Sucre) decided six months ago to embark on a new adventure at 11 Promenade des Anglais: La Canne à Sucre, a well-known spot for the people of Nice, was about to host a concept driven by Eric’s team, manager of Azur Multimédias Solutions: a Sports Bar. The concept is not new; it’s well-developed in many countries. In fact, during a trip to the United States, Eric, a sports enthusiast of all kinds, returned with the idea of creating a similar venue in his city.

Since late December, the decoration (Fan Zone, Pit Corner for motorsports, 16 screens including 2 giant ones continuously displaying live and replayed sports events), the ideas (private evenings, major sporting events like the CAN or today’s Olympic Games opening), and the food offerings (the menu at La Canne à Sucre enhanced with a snack section and a “special athlete” menu) had started to shape the idea, and last night marked the official kickoff. And officially it was: Dr. Marouane Bouloudhnine, Deputy for Sports at the City of Nice City Hall, representing Mr. Christian Estrosi, came to acknowledge the initiative by Nice to have a venue dedicated to all sports, open to athletes, professionals, amateurs, and sports fans alike. Auguste Vérola, Deputy for Commerce and Proximity of the City, praised the renewal and dynamism brought by such a place on the Promenade des Anglais.

The City’s new Director of Sports Laurent Ciubini and his team, along with Mr. Jean Paul Serra, president of CDOS 06, were also present to complete the official representation of the sporting panorama. Yves Cordier for the Ironman of Nice and Michel Disdier, the only French driver on the famous American NASCAR circuit, also braved the weather, which was no small feat.

Olivier Echouafni, Eric Roy, Virginie Rossetti represented OGC Nice, the venue’s sports partner, along with Actufoot and Nice Premium, media partners. Coming from Italy, Pierre Frolla also participated in autograph sessions and photos with his usual kindness, along with the emblematic captain of the gym. Isabelle, Mégane, Emilie, and Sandrine, the cheerleaders from the Stardust troupe of Nice, coached by Fabienne Bistoni, provided entertainment throughout the evening to the sound of DJ Franck Thibaut. It was a beautiful evening full of colors, laughter, and non-stop sports images on the screens; the ambiance was as dreamy as expected.

Another date is coming soon: on Tuesday, February 16, from 7 to 11 p.m., Radio Sensations’ live broadcast led by Angélique Alasta will host a special “Sports Portal of the City of Nice,” guided by the Nice Premium team. On the agenda, guests will discuss their sports news and share a convivial moment. Announced guests include Laurent Ciubini, Jean-Paul Serra, Christophe Pinna, Valérie Nicolas, and Loïc Pietri (awarded best female and male athletes of the year in Nice), Pierre Frolla, Olivier Echouafni, Eric Buchet (former international rugby player and captain of the great Nice rugby team).

Dedicated to sports, athletes, and fans, Sports 11 seems well on its way to winning a bet: bringing together the people of Nice around a Fun & Sports venue!
