This afternoon at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee (CDOS) will present a new initiative, Team Espoirs 06, which is aimed at high-level athletes aged between 17 and 23.
35 athletes have been selected by the Steering Committee.
Genesis and context: CDOS 06, the leading network in the departmental sports movement already heavily involved in promoting sport for all, health sports, and the structuring of sports associations, with well-established actions in department 06, has taken on a new challenge with its focus on high-level sports practice.
The consideration of athletes, their sacrifices, and their success in their dual sports and professional careers, and even in their daily lives, is often overlooked by national organizations that openly display ambitions in terms of rankings and sports results in major international competitions, specifically the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The motto of Team Espoirs CDOS 06 is to provide our young athletes the means to shine at these competitions while helping them secure a professional future. These young talents are, above all, young women and men with educational or professional obligations alongside their sports careers, and the challenge of this initiative is to support them in their dual careers.
The Sport and Professionalization Commission and the Athletes Commission have worked together to implement an innovative and effective tool that supports our young champions in achieving success in their dual sports and academic/professional careers, with the support of dynamic and concerned local partners.
