On Saturday, April 7, 2012, the traditional “Plant Exchange” will be held at the Botanical Garden, taking place all day from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM: a wonderful opportunity for exchanges between enthusiasts and hobbyists in a friendly atmosphere.
At 2:00 PM, visitors can enjoy a free guided tour of the garden with this year’s theme: a journey around the world and the senses, allowing them to admire 3,000 species displayed over 3 hectares.
The botanical garden takes its visitors on a journey around the world and the senses. The tour begins with an introduction to the garden and its history, followed by a discovery of various Mediterranean climate plants through a journey around the world – Morocco, California, the Near East, Australia… – and the senses.
While following the small paths, gardeners will introduce you to the flora of Australia, South Africa, Mexico, Greece, Cyprus, and even the Canary Islands. You can also admire the national collections of sages and agaves.
A place for walks and discovery, this municipal park was created in 1983 and is situated on a hillside: it offers a remarkable view of the Var river mouth with a vast panorama from the Alps to the Estérel.
