From April 17 to 28, the city of Nice is hosting its 14th edition of the festival for young audiences of live arts. During the school vacation, the municipality invites children and teenagers to have fun through the lens of culture.
41 shows across all neighborhoods of the city are to be discovered. 29 cultural venues are taking part, such as the Thรฉรขtre de la Citรฉ or LโAlphabet, the various local libraries, and even Villa Luna and the Opรฉra de Nice. The program is rich. Theater, dance, magic, music, ventriloquism, clown shows, and puppetry, there is something for everyone. Enough to amaze, educate, or make children and very young children laugh starting from nine months old.
To not just be spectators, 16 diverse and varied cultural workshops are organized in the AnimaNice centers and at the museum. Some activities are accessible from 4 to 12 years old. Interactive visits are notably offered at the MAMAC and at the Matisse museum.
An Educational Entertainment
Jean-Luc Gagliolo, deputy delegate for Education, Culture at school, Books, the Fight against illiteracy, Niรงoise Identity, and Leisure for all, launches this festival before a pint-sized audience, in the Blackbox room. “During your vacation, you have the opportunity to engage in cultural and artistic activities“, reminds the deputy, before the lights go out. The festival then opens with the playful and dreamlike show La tรชte dans les รฉtoiles by La Compagnie Les Guildoux, presented in preview.
Through this event, the municipality has a “strong ambition” to “introduce or reintroduce the living arts, sharpen the critical thinking of children, contribute to their cultural and artistic education outside of the school framework“. A festival accessible to all with very low prices or even free admission for some shows. The complete program of shows and workshops is available online here.
