The St Jean d’Angely area, at the heart of the eastern districts, is set to become a new central hub, thanks to the presence of the University, a unifying force driving the dynamics of this neighborhood, and excellent public transport accessibility.

Between 2019 and 2021, the ongoing urban development project will deliver over 10,000 square meters of rental and social housing, offices, and shops, including a LIDL supermarket, a 15-screen multiplex cinema, and 680 parking spaces, 360 of which will be designated for park-and-ride, connecting with tram line 1.

During a site visit, the mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, also announced the creation, by 2020, of a “3,800 square meter garden next to the Saint-Jean d’Angely parking lot. A true green lung of the eastern districts, which will include relaxation areas, children’s play spaces, and freely accessible fitness equipment.

Overall, this is a landscaping project of more than half a hectare that will be implemented by the city of Nice’s services to ensure the quality of life for the residents of the Saint-Jean d’Angely neighborhood.
