Yesterday afternoon, the city of Saint-Laurent-du-Var officially announced its designation as a tourism resort, granted on December 26th by ministerial decree.
Lasting 12 years, the decree acknowledges the actions implemented by the municipality in terms of tourist activities to enhance its influence within the metropolitan area.
An acknowledgment with several benefits, according to the city’s mayor, Joseph Segura, Vice-President of the Nice Cรดte dโAzur metropolis and departmental councilor.
It’s official now.
Saint-Laurent-du-Var becomes a “Classified Tourism Resort.” One of the few in the department.
The “Classified Tourism Resort” of Saint-Laurent-du-Var offers both tourists and residents quality services:
โ in terms of restaurants
โ accommodation
โ hospitality
โ entertainment and seafront development.
The Mayor of the city, Joseph Segura, is proud to have a marina with more than 800 berths, as well as a respectable shopping center: Cap 3000, which attracts around 9 million customers each year.
In two years, the Mayor declared, at the end of the construction, we will have a coastline worthy of a high-level tourist destination.
This distinction will allow restaurateurs with concessions to remain open year-round, without having to disassemble their setups. A significant advantage when being a “Classified Tourism Resort.”
But it doesnโt stop there.
With this honorary distinction, the tourist office located by the sea, at the entrance of the port, will become the metropolitan tourist office.
Saint-Laurent-du-Var is rated “5-star city.”
Marie-France Corvest, municipal councilor in charge of tourism, explains: “We are in the first category,” she continues, “a city with distinctions for its Tourist Office, for the tourism resort, but also for its international tourism.
The city also aims to make its old village more attractive. In both summer and winter, old Saint-Laurent-du-Var has an intimate atmosphere. An old village that has yet to be truly highlighted.
To execute this plan, the city has implemented a connected tour with a QR code to explain its heritage.
Everything is being done to restore Saint-Laurent-du-Var to its former glory.
