At Star Academy, Pierre continues his journey. Certainly, during the seventh prime, for the first time, he was in danger: His score was around 12.3/20. But “one has the right to fail,” emphasizes Pierre. “I had complicated pieces. It was very hard to perform ‘Love is Gone’ with David Guetta. Singing ‘Matilde,’ a Brel song, with Florent Pagny, The Voice, was quite impressive but super! I didn’t do very well because I think I mismanaged my energy. I gave everything at the beginning of the prime by performing ‘Moi, Lolita’ with Alizée. Every Friday is a challenge. It has to be said that we rehearse very little with the artists, but we share a lot. And then, in trying to do well, you end up doing badly.”
A failed prime 7. To make up for it, he had to give his all during the evaluations which went rather well. “This week the theme was ‘A cappella.’ We were given a song. And immediately ‘A cappella’ made me think of the primitive side, of Africa. So I performed ‘Couleur Café’ while playing with these artistic colors. I think the teachers appreciated it.” And Pierre thinks so too. Matthieu Gonet went so far as to say that he loved his evaluation “for the simple reason that Pierre is someone who is continually making proposals.” “He calmed us,” adds Jasmine Roy.

And for this eighth prime, Pierre, what do you have in store for us?
“I have a big challenge to face. I’m going to sing ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ by Queen all alone. Kamel Ouali has prepared a magnificent tableau for me. It’s going to be very complicated; I’ll have to ensure both the singing and the choreography. I’ll also share the stage with James Blunt performing ‘Same Mistake.’”
Singing in French, English, Spanish, Italian, and Nissart? “Obviously, when I was living in Nice, I did the aubades at Saint André de la Roche every year, and we sang in Niçois,” answers Pierre, “Nissa la bella, a magnificent anthem. I’m very chauvinistic about Nice. Recently, I’ve been living in Paris, but my heart remains in Nice.”
And obviously, he misses his city, the city but also its scents, its traditions, its sun, its sky, and “I would love to eat a real pissaladière directly from Nice at the castle. Yes, I miss Niçoise food. The socca… a delight… And moreover, this way, I would introduce our delicious dishes to my friends.”
Before heading off to another class, Pierre wanted to thank those who support him for being who he is “it’s super nice,” but “I don’t feel like I’m somebody. I’m living things very well. I try to be myself. My goal is not to win. I enjoy everything that can be given to me as much as possible. The important thing is to be happy in life.”
