Start of the season with a bang for the girls of ANICES Torball.

Latest News

The first day of the French Women’s Torball Championship D1 was an opportunity for the team from Nice to confirm their excellent start to the season following a victory at the international tournament in Nice in December 2014.

The four players Sandrine Filippini, Emmaculada Barros, Angélique Leal, and Audrey Bouchet, accompanied by their coach Mikael Maunier, arrived confident at the championship, eager to demonstrate their constant progress and execute the work they had put in since the end of last season when they finished 5th in the general ranking, just one goal short of the 4th place. This goal was achieved as they started the day with a victory against Yzeure, then followed up with good results. Only the effective attack of Mulhouse and the experience of the favorites, Clermont-Ferrand, managed to overcome the “Poupoules” in this competition.

The team placed 2nd in the championship behind Clermont-Ferrand, with a slim lead over Lyon, the third place. They will face a tough challenge to maintain this position at the return matches which will take place in Poitiers on June 20th.

The Aiglonnes also achieved personal success, with each winger, Sandrine and Emmaculada, scoring 20 goals, and a total of 49 goals, earning them the best attack award for the competition day. This was a recognition that no Torball section of the club had achieved until then, an encouraging sign for ANICES.
