For the first time in 14 years, France is once again taking over the presidency of the Council of the European Union, from January 1 to June 30, 2022.

Since the beginning of his mandate, the President of the Republic and the Government have been working to strengthen European sovereignty. The French presidency of the Council of the European Union will continue this work for a more united, more sovereign, and more democratic Europe.

To support this French presidency, the City of Nice is offering a program of action in the colors of Europe, from January to June 2022.

This program will start on January 1, 2022, with the illumination of the city’s iconic buildings in the colors of Europe and the decoration of #IloveNice in the first week of January.

This program, consisting of more than 60 events, is intended for all citizens, from the largest to the smallest: entrepreneurs, seniors, students, schoolchildren, families… For 6 months, debates, concerts, competitions, hackathons, cultural, sports, and recreational activities will take place to inform and engage in discussions about the role of the European Union in daily life, combat euroscepticism, and promote active European citizenship.
