The Administrative Court has just made a decision unfavorable to the action taken by local residents and representatives of the Neighborhood Committee. Unfortunately, the focus remains on the form to deliberately avoid addressing the substance of the issue.
If the City of Nice had played its role as it could and should have, this action would not have been necessary, and this building could maintain its role as public utility for the residents.
But let the construction companies and their local supporters, active or passive, not celebrate too quickly, as there is no question of giving up and allowing real estate speculation and urban densification to run rampant! By all means, we will oppose the disappearance of this useful and historic building.
Let us remain mobilized and determined to thwart this ill-conceived plan and demand that the City Council finally take responsibility!
