A legend? But, which one to choose? The one of Saint Marina the Disguised, who became a monk and father despite herself. The one of Saint Margaret “who, along with Saint Marina, is the patroness of all those who suffer due to a gender assigned to them that is not their own,” as Raphaรซl Monticelli writes.
There is also the one of Saint Augustine, “a man subjected to the torments of the flesh,” the one of Saint Michael, the most combative archangel, the one of Saint Gabriel, the most tender and elevated, or even the one of Saint Reparata, who has sometimes appeared in the old town of Nice and is the origin of the name given to the “Baie des Anges,” the miraculous bay.
Another one? Well, we invite you to turn the pages of this “Flowery Legend,” which was initially a series of sculptures and paintings created by Martine Orsoni in 1992. This book, which tells us stories of saints with the pen of Raphaรซl Monticelli, is illustrated by Martine Orsoni.
Some advice? Read it and linger on the “pretty” drawings by Martine Orsoni.
This book is available at the Contes library where it was presented on March 5th.
