Storm Alex has severely hit numerous houses and public buildings. There is a high number of total destructions or irreparable damages, and the classification of these is coming to an end.
The historical heritage has apparently withstood; no monument has washed away; the walls have held firm. However, the 500 mm of rain has severely damaged the roofs of buildings already vulnerable due to the weight of the centuries.
This is an exceptional fundraising campaign because it’s essential to save heritage that is remarkable for its characteristics and rarity: it often involves “Ligurian Baroque” that can only be found in this part of France.
The funds collected will go toward the work deemed most urgent based on the needs expressed by the mayors, to ensure and accelerate their completion, in coordination with the Drac (Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs).
All donors will be regularly informed about the allocation of the funds and the progress of the projects.
