Strike against pension reform: the curious “multiplication” of protesters

Latest News

New day of protests against the pension reform as the governmental project was being presented to the Council of Ministers: the timing of the two was of course intended by the protesters, but one might wonder if they are still well connected to current events.

In Nice, about 3,000 people, 10,000 according to the CGT,* demonstrated in the city’s streets. Many professions were represented in the protest, such as railway workers, teachers, and hospital staff. Lawyers even blocked a highway ramp.

After gathering at Thiers train station around 10 a.m., the march passed through Gambetta and then along the Promenade des Anglais to reach the Albert Garden.

No incidents were reported. The demonstration was quite festive, enlivened by a sort of DJ and entertainer.
