Strike: public transportation disrupted, free parking available

Despite the failure of previous days of action, employees, unemployed people, and retirees are once again called to demonstrate this Tuesday by the CGT, FO, and SUD.

This time, they intend to rise “against the policy of destruction of our social model that is underway, promoting inequalities and the dismantling of collective rights,” according to the rallying cry adopted.

This follows their street opposition to the Pรฉnicaud ordinances for labor code reform last autumn, the change in the status of the SNCF in the spring, or the upcoming public service reform.

Approximately 200 gatherings are announced across the country, and several strikes or walkouts, particularly in the public sector, transportation, or schools, are expected to cause more or less significant disruptions.

In Nice, it will take place at Place Massรฉna, and transportation services will not be operational.

With this new day of mobilization, the CGT and FO hope to capitalize on the discontent of the French people who are upset with the government, not believing in its promises of increased purchasing power.

They also aim to position themselves ahead of the December 6 electionsโ€”and 15 days earlier at the SNCFโ€”in the public sector, where both have much to lose: the first place in the state civil service for FO, and the first place, public and private combined, in the union landscape for the CGT.
