Strike: Union Mobilization or Political Demonstration?

Latest News

This Tuesday, the union mobilization against the ordinances reforming labor law could be significant.

Aside from the CGT, Solidaires, and the FSU, certain FO and CFE-CGC federations have decided to join the movement in opposition to their national leadership. Neither the CFDT nor the CFTC will participate in this strike day.

In fact, more than a protest against this reform, it is about setting the stage for the future reorganization of the left, and the communists, through the union center allied with them, want to assert themselves against the threat posed by Mélenchon’s Insoumis, who, as a major player, has already taken on the role of chief protester.

The CGT has called up its troops. “We expect a high level of mobilization,” declared Philippe Martinez, the general secretary of the CGT, who noted that another day of mobilization would be organized. It will take place on September 21, two days before the demonstration organized by the Gallican Chavez movement.

According to the union leader, the numerous calls for strikes are a sign of “effervescence and a very strong discontent.”

The public sector, which is not affected by the labor code reform, will participate in the movement. In this case, one could say: all’s fair in war!

In Nice, disruptions in the mobility sector (trams, buses, trains, planes) are announced.
