Since 2014, the city of Nice has implemented a patrolling initiative in the Old Town, one of the strategic locations of nightlife where many bars are visited early in the evening by a young population, often students.
As part of a public health approach and the Territorial Security and Crime Prevention Strategy of the City of Nice (2018/2021), and in order to prevent risky behavior among young people during the evening, patrols are organized from 8 PM to midnight on Thursdays, the day of student parties, and Fridays by the RATAPIGNATA students.
