A facade of a building in the Moulins district has been enhanced by a mural from the Nice street artist César Malfi.
Titled “Women from Nice and the History of Freedom” and signed by César Malfi, this mural is 10 meters wide and 12 meters high. It required one and a half years of prior work and preparation, followed by 10 days of creation, during which 4 young people from the Adam association participated.
Located at the corner of Boulevard Paul Montel and Avenue Martin Luther King, this wall was the perfect spot to host his work. This mural, displayed in a district not typically associated with this kind of art, provides educational value. Thus, visible to the young people, it can pass on the values it conveys.
César Malfi, who is highly committed to topics of women and freedom, was the ideal artist to create this mural. Indeed, this work highlights powerful symbols such as Marianne, Catherine Ségurane, and the foundation of the city by the goddess Nikaia. He hopes that these symbols will resonate in the minds of the young people of the neighborhood, who may find themselves reflected, particularly the young girls.
“It communicates a universal message of openness better than any advertising visual. It is a proposal for dialogue. A bridge between different cultures, nations, or religions.”
— César Malfi
