Successful auction of OGCN jerseys: Solidarity lives on

Latest News

“Solidarity” was the key word at the auction of “collector” jerseys organized by OGC Nice, benefiting Promenade des Anges, the association for the victims and families of the July 14th attack on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice.

The Nice team started its Ligue 1 season on August 14, exactly one month after the attack, wearing a special jersey in memory of the 86 victims and the hundreds injured. The white jersey, devoid of any sponsor, featured a heart with the names of all the deceased. Their opponent that day, Rennes, joined in by wearing a similar jersey.

Put on sale on Tuesday, in sets containing tribute jerseys from each of the two teams, these jerseys were added to those of international players recruited at the end of August, including Italian striker Mario Balotelli, Moroccan midfielder Younes Belhanda, and Brazilian defender Dante.

In total, โ‚ฌ121,500 was collected. This amount will be donated to the Promenade des Anges association.

A great initiative by the Nice club, which inspired generous gestures from collectors, including the FFR and the LNF.
