Music, theater, dance… The summer evenings are launched. Eric Ciotti, Deputy, President of the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes, and Dr. Alain Frรจre, Vice-President of CG 06 in charge of Arts and Culture, Mayor of Tourrette-Levens, have unveiled the program for the 2013 Summer Evenings, a flagship cultural event of the department.
Jazz, dance, theater, traditional, contemporary, or classical music will be part of this edition’s lineup. Present on-site, artists and groups will animate this event, a genuine taste of the beautiful azurean summer evenings.
For this 18th edition, from June 27 to September 21, 2013, 97 ensembles are to be discovered, through 408 concerts and performances, in 157 municipalities, bringing life to the squares and cultural venues of the azurean communes. This year, about thirty new groups and shows are on the program.
These evenings, free and accessible to all, organized by the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, symbolize the demand for proximity and territorial solidarity toward, notably, the inhabitants of the midland and highland areas. Each year, 300,000 people attend the various performances, proof of the attractiveness and quality of the shows offered.
.
The program highlights artists from the Alpes-Maritimes. Eclecticism and diversity are the key words of the Summer Evenings to satisfy all tastes, all audiences, and to support cultural creation. In total, more than 2 million spectators have attended the performances since 1996. This year, Bollywood Massala Orchestra, 100% Stones, and Lady Jazz Orchestra will be among the novelties.
