Latest News

From July 21 to August 11, 2011

“The summer evenings are the highlight of the concerts and performances that, throughout the year, mark the rhythm of life on the Cรดte dโ€™Azur,” says the mayor of La Gaude, Michel Meรฏni.

The summer will be enriched by these evenings on July 21, 29, and 31, as well as on August 11.

Free and open to a wide audience, the program combines music and theater, all at the flavor market, outdoors in the gentle summer of La Gaude.

-CANNES REGIONAL SCHOOL OF ACTORS

Thursday, July 21, 2011, at 9 PM at the Flavor Market

“No more watering, thank you”

Itโ€™s difficult to talk about an event that is based on the day, the time, the mood, the location, the residents, the touristsโ€ฆ

Let’s talk rather about a bet than a show.

Letโ€™s make an appointment for an evening, take over a village square, wait for the night to fall, for the family to be complete, for the absentees to show upโ€ฆ

-ORIGINAL COSOLETO BROTHERS

Friday, July 29, at 9 PM at the Flavor Market

A group strongly influenced by Afro-American music, the Blues, and music derived from the Blues.

The Cosoleto Brothers group offers a repertoire of covers of Blues, Rhythm & Blues, Soul standards, and compositions by Josรฉ Cosoleto with English texts by novelist Philip Leroy. This thriller author was awarded the Grand Prix de la Littรฉrature Policiรจre in December 2005 for his novel “The Last Testament.”

โ€“ DENIA RIDLEY QUARTET

Sunday, July 31, at 9 PM at the Flavor Market

Denia RIDLEY is a talented and original American singer performing with a lot of feeling in an elegant and very bluesy style, the biggest classics of the Jazz repertoire reminiscent of Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, or Carmen McRae.

Denia has been performing in Europe for already 10 years, where she has recently decided to settle. For the occasion, she will be accompanied by a trio composed of: Eric ALBERTI (on piano) Tony BRAYER (on drums) and Jack SEWING (on double bass).

-MELLOW SWING โ€“ JAZZ

Thursday, August 11, at 9 PM at the Marcel Pagnol School

Listening to them, one can easily feel as if they are in a saloon in the French Quarter of New Orleans, or even one of those โ€œcharmingโ€ houses where swing was born.

Mellow Swing is an original and talented jazz ensemble, atypical in the Cรดte dโ€™Azur context. Indeed, this group, far from the overused standards, beautifully highlights the freshness and jazz swing as it could be heard in the cabarets and jazz clubs from the 1920s to the 1950s.

Mellow Swing strives to revive a repertoire of artists who blended jazz, blues, and popularity, such as Rose Murphy, Little Esther, Billie Holiday, or Nat King Cole.
