Yesterday afternoon, the president of the Alpes-Maritimes department, Charles-Ange Ginรฉsy, visited the EHPAD La Venรงoise in Vence, accompanied by the director and the mayor of the city, as part of the Summer Events in EHPADs.
To liven up the EHPADs, from July 2 to 31, fifteen activities are scheduled across fifteen EHPADs in the department, including in the city of Nice. In total, more than 1,200 residents are benefiting from these activities. “I would like to commend the department’s dynamism through the numerous activities it offers for the great delight of the seniors in our area, not forgetting the EHPAD residents,” said the mayor of Vence, Rรฉgis Lebigre.
Charles-Ange Ginรฉsy emphasizes that entertainment is a significant factor in the quality of life for both residents and staff in these establishments. “It is a valuable tool for cohesion, sharing, and well-being,” he added. “For this reason, the Alpes-Maritimes department is committed to entertaining and enriching the seniors through numerous activities (musicians, singing performances, dances, and shows),” he continued. This year, Charles-Ange Ginรฉsy notes that the Covid-19 health crisis and the lockdown have created an unprecedented situation. “The vulnerable individuals suffered greatly from loneliness and the inability to receive visits during the lockdown. Despite the lifting of restrictions, seniors remain vulnerable, and caution is necessary regarding contact with close ones and the outside world,” he asserted.
The goal of these activities is to enable residents in care facilities, who have been affected by this crisis, to regain a social life and access to leisure activities.
