Last week we introduced you to the “Apéro Impro evenings” that had just launched at the Bspot in Nice. Well, the first attempt was a resounding success for this debut, suggesting a repeat for tonight’s event starting at 7:45 PM. To learn a little more, Nice Premium met with one of the two organizers of these evenings, Lisiane Maccari, a theater teacher, actress, and director who has worked with various companies in Nice before creating her own, taking over the theater section of BSPOT this year. So Lisiane, will tonight be spectacular at Bspot?
Nice Premium: Lisiane, did the Apéro-Impro enjoy great success last Wednesday?
Lisiane Maccari: Yes, we had more people than we imagined! This shows that theater still has many great years ahead in Nice! Everyone left delighted from the first of the “Holiday Wednesdays”!
NP: This week, Wednesday will exceptionally be a Tuesday, is that right?
LM: Yes exceptionally, it’s on a Tuesday. We’re also going to try to start the improvisations earlier, informing those who can to arrive at 7:45 PM. And there will be an intermission and surprises!
NP: It’s a very evolving concept, I’ve been told?
LM: Let’s say we’re mixing different concepts, so the next day we have a debriefing of the evening and adjust according to what needs improving so people have an even better time the following week!
NP: Is the goal for this to become a regular event?
LM: Initially, they were test evenings, but given the very positive feedback, we’re going to try to continue throughout the summer and maybe even hold one per month for the rest of the year.
NP: Are only actors and actresses allowed to participate?
LM: No, everyone can go on stage, and that’s precisely the innovative aspect of these evenings. No judgment or awards, an open stage for everyone with a few basic rules explained at the start. It’s this exchange between people of different levels that creates the magical moments we witnessed last week. Spectators are also welcome!
NP: Finally, what are Lisiane’s projects for the next season on stage?
LM: I’m continuing my theater workshops at BSPOT, and I believe I’m directing a play written by Pascale and Henri CONCAS, but I only received a request through Nice Premium!
As for my projects as an actress, I would love to perform in a play by Albert CAMUS, but all in good time!
