More than just a contest, it’s a real celebration that will take place this Sunday at the Palais de la Méditerranée starting at 2:30 PM!
Created in 1996 by Fabienne Ollier, this contest aims to pay tribute to these “new generation” grannies who are dynamic and full of joie de vivre, having found the right balance between their family life and social activities (volunteering, humanitarian engagement, etc…).
On Sunday, 12 super grannies will be presented on stage by one of their children and one of their grandchildren. The jury will elect the one who, beyond age, social status, skin color, and cultural origin, will become the 2013 ambassador of values dear to the hearts of the French: Generosity, transmission, merit, engagement, complicity, and solidarity.
The contest jury will be composed of Anh Dao Traxel, godmother of the 17th round, President of the European Star of Civil and Military Devotion and adoptive daughter of the Chirac couple, Alice Dona, Fabienne Thibeault, Jean-Jacques Lafon, Douchka Esposito, Dominique Préhu, senior reporter for France Dimanche, Jean-Pierre Vaillant, president of Mitsubishi France, Jean-Michel Galy, Municipal Councilor for Senior Citizenship, Sylvain Dauber from the group Manureva, Najet Lahouar, Rony Théophile, and José and Clémence from the Compagnie Créole.
Alice Dona, a jury member, will participate on stage and with her family in the contest’s three qualifying sequences: Presentation Sequence, Emotion Sequence, Challenge Sequence. She will perform one of her hits…
