Following a malfunction of two discharge pumps at a pumping station supplying the Haliotis station, accidental pollution occurred on Tuesday evening near Ruhl beach in Nice.
Repair work was immediately implemented to be completed during the night.
As a precautionary measure, the beach will be subject to a swimming ban pending the results of new analyses to be conducted on Wednesday morning.
