Swimming: Generation ONN, the past and the future come together in the present

Latest News

As tradition dictates, twice a year, the young swimmers of ONN gather for a wonderful, friendly celebration alongside the club’s established athletes, a “inter-generational” relay between… the past and the future. This major event of the Club is always a huge success.

On this occasion, the Jean Bouin pool was the scene of the initiation of 300 children from water schools at levels 2, 3, and 4 who participated in the Inter Pools of Olympic Nice Natation, “Generation ONN.”

This friendly event allowed the youngest to meet the ONN champions: Charlotte Bonnet, Anna Santamans, and Marie Wattel were able to give advice to the young swimmers.

In Water Polo, Captain Toma Rodin was accompanied by Manuel Laversanne, International player, as they performed a demonstration to introduce this activity to the children.

Léa Celletti, who recently qualified for the Senior French Championships of Nat’Synchro (technical solo) next December, also joined the children for this festive afternoon.

The involvement of all the educators, athletes, and children allowed everyone to share a moment of joy and good humor under the tender gaze of their parents.

President Jean MONNOT was delighted to see all the Club’s children gathered, from the youngest to the top champions.

The final word goes to Richard Papazian, the club’s general manager for 20 years, and the craftsman behind the success of this club nationally and internationally: “This event is an important moment in the internal life of the club. Its significance lies in the sustainability of our activity between the young up-and-comers and those who have become established athletes; A kind of thread of Ariadne that allows us to look to the future with confidence.”
