The Baie des Anges publishing house and the Artists’ Chaplaincy, with the involvement of the Louis Nucรฉra Library, are organizing a conference titled “Writing and Publishing” on Friday, January 21st.
Nowadays, there are more and more self-published books. The role of the publisher remains essential: selecting a text, finding it an appropriate medium, making it accessible while ensuring the promotion of both it and its author.
In addition, there’s the question of writing, then the book and digital dissemination, which presents many advantages, though the physical book still retains much of its charm.
Writers, books, and their publication will thus be the focus of attention during this conference.

- 10:30am “History and Future of the Book” with Yves-Marie Lequin.
- 11am “Why an Author? The Craft of Writing Today” with Olympia Alberti (poet, writer).

1:30pm “Word and Writing, the Biblical Example” with Jean-Francois Gonzalez (doctoral student in theology).
- 2:30pm “Publishing Proust Today, Training the Publishers and Writers of Tomorrow” with Jean-Marc Quaranta (lecturer in French literature and creative writing at Aix-Marseille University).
3:30pm “Writing a Cathedral in Letters of Gold and Light” with Guillaume Rabaud (writer, art historian). - 4:30pm Round table on the book of tomorrow, issues and perspectives.
