Latest News

A new TV game show is coming next week on M6: 99 to Beat. A television game show on the M6 channel starting August 7. A few days before the first broadcast, Ali and Christian agreed to share their experience.

One is an optician in Carros, the other is a therapist in La Gaude. Both came to seek something other than mere competition: an unexpected human experience. Through this show, 99 to Beat, which is scheduled to air on Thursday, August 7, the goal is simple: beat 99 other contestants in challenges that are sometimes absurd, sometimes touching. A program in which Ali and Christian mainly found connection, humor, and a unique life moment. Interview.

What motivated you to participate in 99 to Beat?

Ali: โ€œIt was pure coincidence. A friend encouraged me to apply. She didn’t get the chance to be selected. She told me, ‘Try it! With your good humor, it could be fun.’ Even though I went alone, the experiences there were multiplied. It was crazy.

Christian: Out of pure curiosity. I’m a very curious person, and I only know the world of television from the corner of my eye. When the opportunity presented itself, I jumped in. I absolutely don’t regret my choice. I ventured into the unknown, and it was a beautiful adventure!

Did you keep in touch with any contestants?

A: You can’t keep in touch with 100 people, that’s impossible. However, there are about twenty people with whom I’ve maintained connections. I regularly check in on them. Regardless of how much time I spent on the show, the connections are amplified tenfold compared to reality.

C: No, I didn’t keep in touch because that’s kind of how I am. But at the moment, it happened easily. Itโ€™s probably due to the atmosphere, perhaps also the playful and discovery side. You know you’re sharing a moment with people you may never meet again.

What do you take away from your experience?

A: The fact that I got along so well with others! Professionally, I’m quite straightforward. I have my own business, and I don’t easily trust just anyone. That’s my doctrine. There, I let it all go!

C: What I really appreciated was that the profiles of the 99 people were different. It was diverse, varied, and intelligently balanced. I think selecting only based on strength would have been exclusive. I saw all these people, completely different, some even with disabilities. It’s something we should cultivate. Difference is richness, not opposition. A beautiful societal lesson!

Ali, how did you find cohabiting with 99 other contestants?

A: I thought it wouldn’t be easy, but that wasn’t the case. Everything happened with joy and good humor. The coordination was splendid, the production was excellent and attentive. It allowed me to meet people I wouldn’t have necessarily come across or even given the time of day!

Does it take more luck or skill to go far in the show?

A: Both! It all depends on the challenges. Some required dexterity, others reflection. You mostly need to keep a cool head. Sometimes the simplest games can cause the most trouble. I would never have believed I’d struggle so much!

Christian, is there a particular game that stood out to you? In the trailer, for instance, we see contestants playing with paper planes…

C: Oh, you noticed that too? Look, since you mentioned it… Youโ€™re already making me smile! It would be easy to say it was a return to childhood, which is a bit of a stretch. I saw it more as an amusing caricature of myself. It made me laugh a lot.

Did you feel stigmatized because of your age?

C: I didn’t feel judged, neither by age, nor by my qualities, skills, or anything else. I saw other people who could have been stigmatized, separated, judged. That wasn’t the case at all. That’s how I’d like to see life. What makes it good or not is you. I believe that anyone, in any situation, if they decide to have a good time, they will. Enjoyment is what’s most important.
