Patrick Mouratoglou launches the Verrazzano Open, an ATP Challenger tournament, which will take place at the Mouratoglou Academy in Sophia Antipolis, located in the Biot area!
In collaboration with Guillaume Rambourg (the founder of Verrazzano Capital) and with the support of the Cรดte d’Azur Tennis League, the tournament fills the gap left by the departure of the ATP 250 tournament in Nice.
Following in the footsteps of Yannick Noah, who trained on these same clay courts, players ranked between 50th and 150th in the world will compete for the 9,000 euros awarded to the winner. The ambition is not to host a match between Nadal and Djokovic, but rather to feature those who will indeed be in the spotlight tomorrow!
The tournament, from April 3rd to 9th, will bring together the best future stars of the small yellow ball and some standouts: Jรฉrรฉmy Chardy has already confirmed his participation, and Serena Williams’ coach aims to assemble a high-quality sports lineup.
Visitors will enjoy a variety of experiences that go beyond a classic sporting event: luxury, sport, and entertainment with a public village and its booths, including one from the Biot Tourism Office!
