The 4th edition of the Science Weekend Village of Sophia Antipolis, organized as part of the Science Festival, will be held on Saturday, October 12 and Sunday, October 13. This year, it will take place on the brand new Sophia Tech Campus, bringing together students, researchers, and companies around the field of Digital Sciences on the technopolis. The program includes stands and demonstrations, visits, and a scientific contest.

The program for this 4th edition of the Science Weekend Village of Sophia Antipolis features a tour through about twenty stands spread across two buildings of PolyTech Nice Sophia Antipolis and an outdoor area.

This tour will take you through Digital Sciences by discovering communicating objects using solar energy for autonomy, the use of millimetric radar, wireless sensors for video surveillance, ambient computing centered around smartphones and all sorts of touch screens, the role of meshing in these disciplines, as well as the history of the Internet.

You will dive into the field of sustainable development, with energy challenges and the materials of tomorrow with spectacular behavior, not to mention water on Earth and in the Universe, and biological control for crop protection.

Also, for electronics enthusiasts, Robots, Drones, and radio amateurs,

And finally, workshops very accessible for both young and old to understand and play with physics and atoms.

This tour can be completed with a visit to the experimental greenhouses of the INRA and the IHM room (Interface Home Machine of the I3S (by registration).

SCIENTIFIC GAME

This year, a new format of the scientific game, faithfully associated with this Science Weekend, is offered to guide the public through this tour.

A questionnaire consisting of multiple-choice questions is available at each stand. During your visit, you will find the correct answers to each of these questions and note them directly on your smartphone or tablet, or once back home until 10/15, to participate in the contest on www.we-des-sciences.fr.

Winners, drawn from among the participants (draw on October 16), will be invited to visit the Côte d’Azur Observatory, at the end of which prizes will be awarded to them over a glass of friendship.

Among the prizes, numerous free entries to the Monaco Oceanographic Museum, the Alpha Park (Wolf Park), the Monts d’Azur Reserve, the ASTRORAMA, etc…
