The Winter Classic Rally offers drivers 380 km between sea and mountains, from the French Riviera to the Val d’Allos.
The much-appreciated feature by participants is the regularity tests on closed roads. There will be four of these this year on the “Entrevaux โ Col des Fรฉlines” section (9 km).
The 12th edition of this beautiful rally will make a notable stop at Val d’Allos this Saturday, January 10th. After starting in Golfe-Juan, the 50 vehicles participating in this event will traverse the roads of the backcountry of Nice before gathering between 3 PM and 7 PM on the ice driving school circuit for a new driving challenge.
New this year: a presentation of the vehicles at Val d’Allos – La Foux between 7 PM and 8 PM, with insightful commentary by Claude Julian, speaker of the Monaco Grand Prix and the Monte Carlo Rally.
Motorsport and car enthusiasts, as well as weekend skiers, will undoubtedly enjoy the spectacle offered by the drivers at the wheel of their sports cars, some of which are over forty years old. All these vehicles have made automotive history and will certainly surprise visitors.
A few examples: Renault 5 Turbo 1983, BMW M3 1987, Porsche 911 1980, Opel Manta 1982, Alpine Renault A110 1966, Alfa Romeo GT V6 1984, Ford Sierra Cosworth 1986, an Italian crew in a Lancia Fulvia HF 1970, Simca 1000 Rallye 3 1978, Peugeot 205 Rallye 1987, Innocenti Cooper 1975โฆetc.
The award ceremony will take place in Golfe-Juan (French Riviera) this Sunday at 5:30 PM during a gymkhana where the winners will be awarded a stay for their next vacation in the Val d’Allos.
