Business creation is booming in the priority neighborhoods of the city. More and more residents share this ambition and are embarking on the entrepreneurial adventure. It is also at the heart of government action with the launch in December 2013 of a “neighborhood entrepreneurs” plan by the ministry responsible for the city.
The steadily increasing enrollments in Talents des Cités each year bear witness to this enthusiasm. Bringing together a network of 450 former winners, business creators present throughout France, of which 75% are still in business, Talents des Cités has already created more than 4,000 jobs in priority neighborhoods since the competition began in 2002.
Buoyed by these successes, the Ministry of the City and the Senate are launching the 13th edition of the Talents des Cités competition, co-organized by BGE and the Caisse des Dépôts.
Fully aligned with the objectives of the “neighborhood entrepreneurs” plan, the Talents des Cités competition is supported by numerous public and private partners: the National Agency for Social Cohesion and Equal Opportunities (Acsé), the Safran Group, GDF Suez, Epareca, the EDF Foundation, the Casino Group, the SFR Foundation, FinanCités, the National Agency for Urban Renewal (Anru), the Club XXIe siècle, Public Sénat, France Télévisions, and Radio France.
Talents des Cités is open to business or association creators and project initiators based in the priority neighborhoods of city policy. Candidates are invited to present their project by May 31, 2014, at the latest*.
To participate, candidates must first have their project validated or be supported by a business creation support organization, BGE or other.
Organized across France by BGE, the regional juries select two winners per region in each of the following categories:
Creation, intended for business and association creators whose activity was launched between 2011 and 2013.
Emergence, dedicated to project or idea initiators who wish to create an activity.
They will be rewarded with a regional prize of €1,000 to €2,000. Among them, 10 winners will be distinguished by a national jury. They will receive a prize of €7,000 and be sponsored by one of the Talents des Cités partners.
