Latest News

The author is none other than Jànmarc Cana, author, composer, and singer of “La Banda à Cana.” He is known for his videos with Madama Rata.

The aim of this endeavor is to restore the prestige of Nissart, which is more renowned for its orality than for its written form.

The essays will be corrected by three professors: Laurenç Revest (Doctorate in Occitan), Ciril Joanin (Occitan Linguistic Competency Diploma), and Cristòu Daurore (Occitan Degree).

The text of the dictation will allow all those who know a bit of the language to attempt to write it, with all spellings accepted.

There will be four categories of texts:
1) for children: 43 words,
2) for middle school students: 68 words,
3) for high school students: 115 words,
4) for adults: 144 words.

The schedule:

1:00 PM: Welcoming of participants and guests.

1:40 PM: Lyric singing in Nissart by Christina Collier, a British opera singer with an international career.

– Dictation of the text by its author Jànmarc Cana.
– Balèti (traditional Occitan dance), hosted by the band Tchatchao, with varied inspirations and tones mixing the diatonic accordion, hurdy-gurdy, percussion, bass, and guitar.
– Awarding of diplomas and prizes for the 17th Dictada Occitana in Nissart.
