The 17th Lusophone Cinema Week takes place in a context of tensions where more than ever it is important to cultivate one of the founding values of the Republic, fraternity, which is also a constituent of Lusophony.
For the president of the Lusophone Space Padro da Nobrega: “This space has managed to build a community founded first of all on a shared language but also on the ties that history has woven, transcending the trials and conflicts that may have marked it. A space of exchanges which, with Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Sรฃo Tomรฉ and Prรญncipe, and Timor-Leste, spans four continents while extending far beyond.”
7 films will be screened alternately, starting today and until March 31, at the Mercury cinemas in Nice, Strada in Mouans-Sartoux, Studio in Grasse, and MJC Picaud in Cannes.
An demanding program that strives, despite the constraints of film production and distribution, to open spaces for encounters by illustrating the richness of the cultures of this Lusophone space.
