The 19th edition of the Raid EDHEC has officially begun!

Once again this year, the competitors gathered at the EDHEC Business School premises for an exceptionally precise administrative and equipment check. After a welcoming buffet conducive to initial exchanges between participants and organization members, the teams were shuttled to Vievola for the start of the prologue. A loop approximately thirty kilometers long combining trail running, mountain biking, and biathlon.

After a welcoming buffet conducive to initial exchanges between participants and organization members, the teams were shuttled to Viรฉvola for the start of the prologue. A loop approximately thirty kilometers long combining trail running, mountain biking, and biathlon.

This first route was an opportunity to connect the five Italian forts dating from the 19th century, originally built to protect against French attacks and remained active until World War II.

Congratulations to Team Quechua, who completed the course in 3h32โ€™32โ€™โ€™ (time after bonuses: 1h17โ€™32โ€™โ€™), outpacing the winners of the previous edition, namely the XTTR 63 Crรฉdit Agricole. Issy Aventures Raidnature.com completed the dayโ€™s podium. Among the students, it was the Summโ€™it Raid EDHEC team that finished on top (4th in overall time).

Once back at the bivouac, competitors were able to eat and socialize in good spirits during the “Petit Journal du Raid,” an original segment curated by our host Sรฉbastien Lopez. However, the teams soon retired to their tents, with an early wake-up scheduled for 4 AM and a demanding route ahead, the first major stage of the EDHEC Raid 2012 promises to be intense.
