This Saturday, the sports movement of the Côte d’Azur is gathering at the Escoffier Cultural Center in Villeneuve-Loubet for the 1st edition of the Departmental Sports Meetings.
The chosen theme is “Sports and Disability.”
The objectives of this day are linked by the same guiding thread:
– Make information regarding disability sports (actions, possibilities, training…) accessible
– Promote, stimulate, and enhance the different offers for people with disabilities
– Facilitate exchanges between the various stakeholders in the field
– Encourage the public to change their perspective on disability sports, including between adapted sports and parasports
– Promote the various departmental programs (sailing for the disabled, skiing for the disabled, equestrian sports for the disabled, tennis for the disabled, trail running for the disabled…)
– Engage a strategy to optimize actions
Throughout the day, but particularly in the afternoon, activities will be organized:
– Basketball and wheelchair basketball with the Hornet’s
– Wheelchair tennis and blind tennis
– Hand & Wheelchair Rugby, seated volleyball
– Golf
– Athletics
– Laser shooting
– Petanque
– Horse riding (registration at: sport-evenementiel@departement06.fr)
– Electric bicycle rental
And also: climbing (from 8 years old), tree climbing (from 8 years old), trampoline, goalball, slackline, laser shooting, first aid, 3D virtual animation, orienteering and treasure hunts.
