This Saturday, April 19, at the UFR STAPS in Nice (261 Route de Grenoble), a Fitness and Bodybuilding competition will take place starting at 11 AM and ending at 9 PM.
This competition is organized by the largest federation, the International Federation of Bodybuilding (IFBB). It is the 1st Grand Prix of the city of Nice.
There will be 20 categories, and several athletes from Nice will participate, along with other local athletes from different sports, including Jรฉrรดme Ardissone.
Bodybuilding is one of the competitive forms of weight training.
A bodybuilding competition is judged by a panel that evaluates the muscle development of the athletes.
In a bodybuilding competition, athletes are divided according to their weight, age, and gender. There are junior, hopeful, senior, master (over 40, over 50, over 60), female: bikini and fitness categories.
To establish the rankings, judges have all competitors perform a series of required poses, selecting groups of three to refine their judgment. There are 7 required poses for men and 5 for women.
After the rounds of rest and required poses, the third round offers the chance to see the athlete in motion. Each athlete will pose to the music of their choice for one minute (for men) or a minute and a half (for women). They aim to highlight their strengths and create a performance that will captivate the audience. This is a purely personal demonstration called posing.
The judges establish a final ranking by considering the quality of tone and muscle definition, muscle density, as well as muscle symmetry.
For this, the athlete must engage in dietary and nutritional preparation for several weeks to present their musculature with minimal subcutaneous fat and the least water retention possible. The challenge for athletes is to achieve the best result without using anabolic products, which are prohibited and, of course, highly harmful to the body since anabolic steroids are not dietary supplements but pharmaceutical and medical products for specific pathologies.
The IFBB is the largest international federation, and Nice will host a qualifying competition for the Mediterranean Games, which may take place in Nice in September.
Therefore, this Saturday, April 19, 2014, will be a very special day as the IFBB has not returned to Nice in over 20 years, and all fans of this sport will be present
