Until July 28, 2011, the Junior Safeguard operation is taking place at the “Li Rateta” center on Centenary Beach, allowing children from municipal and associative leisure centers to enjoy nautical activities and beach sports.

These children, aged 7 to 12, benefit from a competent team in a fun, secure, and entirely free space for 1.5 hoursโ€”the duration of a training session intended to be both enjoyable and educational.

This operation, which has been held for four years in Nice in partnership with Sea Rescuers (SNSM), aims to raise children’s awareness about the dangers of swimming and sun exposure with a program based on individual responsibility, divided into four educational axes:

“I know the dangers”: Becoming aware of the dangers and ensuring one’s own safety in the water;

“I know how to give an alert”: Being attentive to others, recognizing a risky situation, and knowing how to raise an alert;

“I protect my skin”: Protecting one’s physical integrity against sun dangers;

“I respect nature”: Knowing, respecting, protecting the environment, and adopting exemplary behavior.

The infrastructure:

Multi-surface equipment with a private supervised beach;

Activities led by specialized animators featuring role-playing, quizzes, and game tables;

A delimited pool of 300 mยฒ, under the supervision of a lifeguard, near the rescue posts of the CRS and firefighters;

A shaded area to host artistic and cultural activities in the best conditions;

An average of 240 children welcomed daily!
