Created in 2009, at the initiative of the City of Nice and supported by the Bernar Venet Foundation, the Contemporary Young Creation Prize distinguishes two young artists among the graduates of Villa Arson.

It reflects a strong commitment to help and encourage young artists upon leaving school to establish themselves and to develop professional projects in the art world.

Anna Tomaszewski, the recipient of the City of Nice Prize, produces spaces using sculpture, which for her, serves as a pretext to imagine landscapes and environments.

Simon Nicolas, the Bernar Venet Prize winner, is an artist whose primary material is sound. The street and the surrounding space are his sources of extraction.

The laureates will each receive a creation grant, accompanied by a one-year residency and an exhibition at the Galerie de la Marine in October 2015.

The exhibition is held in two parts: until October 5 at the Galerie de la Marine; until September 25 at Villa Arson.

The curation of this exhibition was managed by Frรฉdรฉric Bonnet.
