On Tuesday, January 13th, the communication BTS students from the Parc-Imperial High School in Nice presented their 2015 calendar themed around communes. For the occasion, all the students involved in its development were present to discuss it.

At 7 p.m. in the conference room of the Parc-Imperial High School in Nice, several dozen students were preparing for their presentations. In a few minutes, they would go on stage to talk about their work. “A project that began in September,” explained Clémence Candeliez, a second-year BTS student and the project leader.

Created from start to finish by 24 communication BTS students, the calendar highlights one commune per month. “We called our calendar ‘Com’ Des Communes.’ The students worked in pairs to create each month,” commented the project leader. A long-term effort for the future communicators.

The opportunity to work with professionals

“We collaborated with 12 different communication agencies. We had to agree with each town on the image we would portray,” recalled Clémence Candeliez.

According to the project leader, the work was complicated but interesting. For each page of the calendar, an image was entirely designed by the students: “Several times, we had to redo the visuals because they weren’t quite right. We highlighted the uniqueness of each town,” Clémence explained. Thus, for the city of Menton, lemons are featured in the image. In Grasse, one can find flowers and perfume.

This work, carried out alongside their studies, is not the only project the students dedicate their time to. Clémence added, “There’s also the ‘Com’Olympiade’ that our BTS created. It’s a competition that brings together all the communication students in France.” The BTS students are keen on winning this 12th edition this year.
