The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) is published by Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, China. Since its creation in 2003, Harvard University has consistently held the first place.
In 2019, Harvard once again topped the list, ahead of Stanford and Cambridge in the United Kingdom.
France places its first university in this ranking at the 37th position, with the new “Paris Sud” climbing up from the 42nd position.
A total of 35 French universities are ranked among the 1,000 in the study: Nice Sophia Antipolis is ranked at the 30th place, in the 801-900 range.
It shows there’s still room for improvement!
