Their visit remained secret until the last moment, but the trip of Brigitte Macron and Didier Deschamps did not go unnoticed. The First Lady and the head coach of the French national team went to Nice this Friday to close the 33rd edition of the Pièces Jaunes operation in the Colline du Château park after visiting a department at the Lenval Hospital dedicated to traumatized adolescents.
Students from several classes in Nice were able to see the president of the hospitals foundation and the ambassador of the operation; some even got the chance to speak with them and ask for autographs. Brigitte Macron and Didier Deschamps also interacted with representatives from the national bakers’ federation, La Poste, and the Bank of France.
On this day, nearly a ton of coins was collected at post offices in Nice. This amounts to approximately 11,000 euros according to the Bank of France. These funds will be used to improve the hospitalization conditions of children and adolescents in the Alpes-Maritimes and throughout the rest of France.
Brigitte Macron and Didier Deschamps also visited the pediatric psycho-trauma evaluation center, created in January 2017 following the July 14th attack.
