This Wednesday, June 5, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Antibes Yacht Club in Antibes, organized by the Alpes-Maritimes General Council, the Departmental Sailing Committee, in partnership with the National School Sports Union (U.N.S.S.), the Sailing Sports Association of the middle schools, and 9 sailing clubs in the department, is holding the finals of the 21st edition of the Middle School Trophy.
130 middle school students from 16 middle schools in the Alpes-Maritimes are competing. These students, divided into 31 teams, will defend their title at the helm of both large and small catamarans, as well as optimists.
Created in 1993, the Middle School Trophy is in continuity with the Sailing Plan initiated in 1991.
Within this framework, training sessions are organized every Wednesday afternoon during the school year at the nine nautical bases of the department. Over the course of the year, three meetings between middle schools were organized, leading up to the final showdown, the finals.
