The Taste Week is one of those highlights that punctuates the life of cafeterias. The
children receive visits from top chefs at their school. It’s a unique moment
for them!
Ten top chefs and pastry chefs from the Côte d’Azur will be in the kitchens of Chef Ratatouille from Monday the 13th to Friday the 17th of October. Students from public schools and children in early childhood establishments in Nice can savor delicious dishes during lunch or snack time. Each chef has developed a different menu, taking into account the age of the children.
This operation will allow nearly 1,200 children to meet, perhaps for the first time, a top chef!
Michel Devillers, Sébastien Mahuet, José Orsini, Jacques Rolancy, David Vaqué, Alain Llorca, Christian Plumail, Luc Salsedo, Serge Serain, and Jean-Michel Llorca will delight the taste buds of young Nicois who dine in school restaurants and snack in the city’s nurseries.
For this edition, the chefs have once again outdone themselves and concocted
savory and surprising menus, made mostly from seasonal products.
Teaching children the virtues of a balanced diet
The goal is to allow children to eat well, discover the taste of seasonal and local products, and learn the virtues of a balanced diet.
Themed meals and activities centered around taste are offered: Italy on the table, Festin dei cougourdon, Christmas menus, activities on the theme of food families and the principles of dietary balance, etc.
At the table, the schoolchildren will be served “like in a restaurant” by students from the Paul Augier Regional School of Hospitality and Tourism, supervised by Chef of Works
