The 2nd edition of the Rock ‘n’ Roll 10 Miles of the Carnival took place in an atmosphere of infectious good humor and friendliness. 16.1 km of celebration and Rock music! A festive race par excellence, combining running and costumes, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Nice 10 Miles of the Carnival kicked off the first weekend of the Nice Carnival festivities.
Originating from the United States, where the combination of sports and rock ‘n’ roll has proven successful, this race is unlike any other in France. To encourage the runners and boost the spectators’ spirits, rock bands placed all along the route turned the 16.1 km course into a long colorful, dancing, and singing serpent.
Amidst the pain, but always in good spirits, the runners finish their race to the cheers of the crowd. “Don’t stand out, run in costume” was the motto of this 2nd edition!
Over 3,000 participants took on the famous Promenade des Anglais in Nice. Mild temperatures and clear skies created pleasant running conditions for this February event. The most rock ‘n’ roll, creative, or carnival-themed costumes were rewarded at Place Masséna.
In terms of results, it was Mike NYUGUNA who won this 2nd edition of the Rock ‘n’ Roll 10 Miles of the Nice Carnival in 54 minutes 10 seconds. Among the women, Céline BOUSREZ, dressed as a ladybug, completed the race in 1 hour, 58 seconds.
