The Nice association, MUM MOOD, is organizing the European Breastfeeding Forum for the second consecutive year, open to the general public and healthcare professionals on October 12, 2024, in Nice.
The second iteration of the European Breastfeeding Forum will take place at the Anantara Plaza Nice Hotel. This ambitious event aims to raise awareness through conferences, workshops, and many other activities for healthcare professionals and the general public on the subject of breastfeeding. In France, 70% of babies are breastfed from birth, but these figures drop at 6 months with only 1 in 5 children.
This event will take place on October 12, right in the middle of the world breastfeeding week. You will therefore have the opportunity to discover the benefits of breastfeeding for both mother and child. It is a forum accessible to everyone, for the price of 49 euros, providing information and raising awareness about breastfeeding that is comparable to conferences normally dedicated only to healthcare professionals.
It is important for a mother to have all the necessary information before deciding whether or not to breastfeed, as both breastfeeding and not breastfeeding have their own benefits and drawbacks.
What is the program?
The day will unfold as follows. In the morning, there will be a conference on the microbiome and breastfeeding. Then a second conference on “junk food” and everything related to the lobbying of artificial milk. Finally, there will be a conference on the issue of weight gain in children in maternity, which poses a significant problem.
In the afternoon, the forum will host two round tables. One round table will discuss world breastfeeding week and inequalities in supporting mothers. Present will be documentarians, directors, and authors to talk about this subject.
The second round table will cover the topic of extended breastfeeding. This time, Olympic athletes will be present. Surrounding this, there will be workshops focused on well-being, nutrition, learning to breathe, and managing emotions.
Only the conferences have a fee; you can thus enjoy the exhibition and jazz concert organized completely free.
Mum Mood, what is it?
MUM MOOD is an association whose objective is to protect, support, raise awareness, and assist mothers on the subject of breastfeeding. The association brings together breastfeeding scientists, associations related to breastfeeding, photographic art, creators, brands, and families to share and celebrate breastfeeding.
Presided over by Céline Bourganeuf, who will be present and actively involved at the next Forum, MUM MOOD is a great initiative for a topic that unfortunately remains too taboo.
