The UMIH is organizing the 2nd National Beach Workers Convention on May 12 in Juan-les-Pins.
The 2006 decree on beach concessions, known as the “beach decree,” has demonstrated difficulties in its implementation, its financial cost for beach workers, and its consequences on employment since it came into effect.
In the current state of the regulations, the text would lead to the loss of 400 jobs in the city of Cannes and the same number in the city of Antibes.
UMIH has been very active on the issue of beach concessions along the French coastline for several years now.
